What is Profoto Air?
Profoto Air is a complete system for remote radio sync and control, designed to free your eyes and hands so that your mind and heart can focus on the image you set out to create.

What products is Air compatible with?
Profoto Air allows for high-speed sync with almost any speedlight or flash pack available on the market. If you have a Profoto unit with built-in Air, connect an Air Sync/Remote to your camera’s hot shoe and you are good to go. If your flash does not support Air, use the Sync Cable to connect a second Air Sync/Remote to the flash and start shooting. Note that Profoto Air is the fastest radio sync system in the world, offering a sync speed as fast as 1/1600 s.

Can I use Air to control my units from the computer?
Yes. Download the Profoto Studio 3 software (free of charge) and connect the Air USB transceiver to your computer. You will now have full control of every unit that is compatible with Air. Another option is to download the Profoto Studio plug-in for Capture One, which allows you to control your units from within the Capture One software.

Can I use Air to trigger my camera from afar?
Yes. Find the dedicated Release Cable that fits your specific camera model, and connect it to an Air Sync/Remote. Then use a second Air Sync/Remote to instantly trigger the camera from the palm of your hand.

Can I use Air to trigger more than one camera at once?
No problem! Use Release Cables to connect Air Sync/Remote units to each remote camera. Then use another Air Sync/Remote as your remote control, and release all of your cameras at once with a simple button press. Perfect for action-packed sports events, or just about any situation where one pair of eyes and hands is not enough.

The Air System Includes

Profoto Air Sync
This small, hand-held device, weighing only 70 g (2.5 oz) including batteries, provides the perfect solution when you need to trigger your flash with your camera, or when you need to release an unlimited number of cameras wirelessly. The Air Sync has a range of 300 m (1,000 ft) and is approved for worldwide use.

Profoto Air Remote
The Air Remote is as versatile as the Air Sync, but expands functionality even further by offering complete flash control, including flash power and modeling light control. The Air Remote works with all generators with built-in Air (no remote control with AirS).

Profoto Air USB
The Air USB 2.0 transceiver connects your Profoto Studio 3 software with any unit that is connected to your Air system. In other words, say goodbye to USB cables and go wireless!. (not compatible with AirS)

Profoto Studio 3 software
Supporting the latest operating systems on both Mac and PC, Profoto Studio 3 (free of charge) is a powerful tool that allows photographers to control their Profoto lighting equipment directly from the desktop of their computer (requires Profoto AIR USB for wireless use).

Profoto Studio plug-in for Capture One
Download the Profoto Studio plug-in (free of charge) and take full control of all your compatible Profoto lighting equipment from within the Capture One Pro software. Wireless and approved for worldwide use (requires Profoto AIR USB for wireless use).

Profoto Sync Cables
Use the Sync Cable to connect your Air Sync/Remote to your flashes. Can also be used to connect an Air Sync/Remote to any camera that does not have a hot shoe.

Profoto Air Camera Release Cables (NEW!)
Find the dedicated Release Cable that fits your specific camera model, and connect it to an Air Sync/Remote. Then use a second Air Sync/Remote to trigger your camera up to 300 m away. With additional Release Cables, you can trigger an unlimited number of cameras at once!

Profoto Air Camera Pre-release Cables
(NEW!)
Offers the same functionality as a Camera Release Cable, but has the addition of a switch for release or pre-release mode. Pre-release mode activates the camera, just like pressing the camera's shutter release halfway continuously will. The camera will then respond more quickly. Note: the pre-release mode will drain the camera battery more rapidly.

PROFOTO AIR INSIDE
This symbol tells you when a flash unit has a built-in transceiver that makes it compatible with the Profoto Air system. It is your guarantee of a perfect Sync/Remote.
