New From Profoto Small Yet Deep And Parabolic Umbrellas5.jpg

Today we expand our assortment of umbrellas with six new models. The new models are unique on the market in that they are small and lightweight yet deep and parabolic.

Last year, we introduced a new line of umbrellas, comprising twelve models in two shapes (deep and shallow) and three fabrics (white, silver and translucent).

Today, Profoto’s line of umbrellas is extended with six new models. The new models are unique on the market in that they are small and lightweight yet deep and parabolically shaped. This combination of size and shape creates a more focused and directed light than what you might expect from an umbrella of this size. Read More

On September 15, we will release Air Remote TTL-N, a small, wireless radio transmitter that attaches to the Nikon camera’s hotshoe and enables TTL metering with the Profoto B1 off-camera flash.

In other words, Air Remote TTL-N is the Nikon shooter’s equivalent to the Canon shooter’s Air Remote TTL-C (available since November 2013).

We are now looking for Nikon test pilots to try out the new Air Remote TTL-N before it is launched.

Also, thanks to HR Studios for the stunning video above.

Today, we are happy to introduce the very first B1 kit. The kit is called Profoto B1 Location Kit. As the name suggests, it is designed to make the highly portable B1 even easier to bring to an on-location shoot.

The most attention-grabbing features of the Profoto B1 have always been the B1’s TTL metering and its cordless operation. Both of these features convey the same message: the B1 is not a studio flash. It is an off-camera flash designed for on-location photography. The TTL function shines the brightest in challenging lighting conditions. Its cordless operation unleashes your creativity and makes it want to run free in the wild!

The new Profoto B1 Location Kit was designed with this in mind. The kit contains the following:

  • 2 x B1 Off-camera Flashes
The B1 makes great light easy. With TTL you set the light in a flash. With battery power and without cords, you can take it with you wherever you go and put it wherever you want. Add to that the power, speed and light shaping possibilities that Profoto lights are known for.
  • 2 x Li-Ion Batteries
This powerful and exchangeable battery will provide 220-50.000 flashes in a single charge depending on your flash output.
  • 1 x Fast Charger 4.5A
The Fast Charger will fully recharge the Li-Ion Battery in only one hour. Plus it is safe and very easy to use.
  • 1 x Car Charger 1.8A
Plugs into a standard car cigarette connector and recharges the Li-Ion Battery in two hours.
  • 1 x BackPack M
A tailor-made backpack with comfortable carrying straps, adjustable compartments and side pockets for carrying stands (not included).

The B1 Location Kit is the latest addition to our growing and evolving off-camera flash concept. In November 2013, the B1 and its many accessories were launched. In April 2014, the first firmware upgrade was released, enabling TTL metering with the Canon EOS-1D X.

As you all know, we are now working on the firmware upgrade that will enable high-speed sync (HSS). We are also busy developing the new Air Remote TTL-N that will enable TTL metering with Nikon cameras. New Light Shaping Tools, optimized for off-camera flashes, are also on their way.

More information about the B1 and the B1 Location kit can be found at our website.
