Byron Atkinson on Continuous Light
Byron Atkinson has published a review of the Profoto ProDaylight 800 Air and the ProTungsten Air on his blog, hdhd. Calling these models “a major rethinking and development” over Profoto’s previous continuous lighting products, Atkinson goes into substantial detail on the new models, and presents them in a historical context within the Profoto line.
Giving high marks to the units’ surprisingly-manageable weight, cooling technology, and “superb” quality of light, Atkinson provides reference photos taken with different reflectors used on a model as subject.
When contacting us about his project, Atkinson wrote, “I will tell you now that the experience shooting with the ProDaylight was wonderful. We never touched the Acute2 pack and head we had setup next to the ProDaylight!”
Atkinson promises Part 2 will be posted by next Monday. It will include a two-minute video shot with a ProDaylight 800 Air and a Magnum reflector.
