What is Air ?

Air is a complete Profoto system for advanced radio remote and radio sync, software and USB transceivers.

Complete flash control of your camera, in your hand or from your computer, including flash power and modeling light control. Control an unlimited number of generators and heads on eight channels, internationally.

Profoto Air devices deliver sync signals with a very short delay, just 100µs in fast mode. Signal connections are made with either a hot shoe or a cable.

These small, hand-held devices weigh only 70 g (2.5 oz) including batteries. They pack a lot of functionality and reliability into an easy-to-use control panel. Operating at 2.4 GHz, they are approved for world wide use.

Profoto Air systems with sync can also operate with external receivers on older generators or other brands.

The full Air system with Air Remote and Air Sync is integrated in the Profoto D1 Air monolights and Pro-8a Air generators.

What is Air Remote?

The Profoto Air Remote is a small and handy transceiver that can be used to remote control and synchronize Profoto D1 Air monolights and Pro-8a generators. It is also possible to use the Air Remote to synchronize Profoto flashes that are equipped with an AirS module – but without remote control.

On top the Air Remote can be used as external radio sync receiver for most other flashes or radio release system for cameras (dedicated sync and release cables are available) that are not integrated with the radio slave.

What is Air Sync ?

The Profoto Air Sync is a small and handy transceiver that can be used to synchronize (fire) Profoto monolights and generators that are equipped with a Profoto Air or AirS module.

On top the Air Sync can be used as external radio sync receiver for most other flashes or radio release system for cameras (dedicated sync and release cables are available) that are not integrated with the radio slave.

What is AirS ?

- Integrated Air Sync control

Profoto AirS stands for Air Sync and is a a radio module integrated into Profoto AirS generators. AirS is a radio slave sync module that can also be integrated into other product brands such as flash units and cameras.

What is Air USB?

- Wireless control transceiver for Mac or PC

The Profoto Air USB is a USB transceiver (signal sender) that can be used to radio remote control Profoto D1 monolights or/and Profoto Pro-8a Air generators via a PC or Mac with the Profoto Studio software.

What is Profoto Studio

- Profoto on your Mac or PC

Profoto Studio software allows remote control of Profoto D4 generators with a PC or Mac via standard USB cables, hubs or Air USB.

Profoto D1 Air monolights or/and Pro-8a Air generators can be controlled wireless in combination with the Profoto Air USB transceiver.
