The Workshop;
Have you a desire to understand and apply studio lighting skills to a high standard in minimum time? If so, no matter what lighting system you use, Profoto Lighting School is pleased to offer this very informative and inspirational event.
Designed to provide step-by-step guidance, specifically for those engaged in people photography it is intended for those new to studio lighting, or simply wishing for a ‘real world’ refresher.
Our host, John Clements is a highly respected photographer, and teacher of the skills needed for a modern photographer too succeed, regardless of them being a professional or a passionate enthusiast.
Lighting is as important as ever, and nothing equals quality studio lighting for its control and sheer versatility.
The day’s practical elements will major around using Profoto’s D1 Air system of mono heads and accessories, such as the highly acclaimed Profoto ‘Light Shaping Tools’.
While the need to use common lighting accessories such as softboxes, beauty dishes and honeycomb grids is understood, their practical application is not . Where should they be placed, what power settings and shooting apertures are needed?
And how do you combine then to the best effect?
John will show in one day, useful, proven and repeatable lighting techniques, and arrangements, suitable for those looking to master a range of results across social portraits, fashion, boudoir and Corporate imaging needs.
From important basics we move on to produce professional level results. Delegates will leave with a framework that forms the basis for a long term successful approach to lighting.
As an added bonus, delegates can tap into John’s extensive knowledge, not just of lighting but of digital imaging as a whole. We will also be detailing other important aspects to the image making process. Designed to suit different styles, tastes and budgets the day will cover from a single head set up through to combining various numbers of studio heads however our aim is to minimise the kit needed to create the maximum effect.
Profoto experts will also be on hand, and of course delegates will have a chance to shoot some imagery on the day for reference. Supporting materials and lunch are also supplied.
We focus amongst others on the following elements:
• Practical camera settings
• Getting the best exposure
• Getting the best white balance/colour settings
